A few months ago a young man from Cedar City, working on his eagle project, came into the Cedar City offices with several photographs he had taken of tombstones from the Cedar City Cemetery. City Engineer, Troy Maxwell saw the photographs and agreed to use them on the Cedar City website in a GIS Interactive Mapping system he had put together of the Cedar City Cemetery. The project is currently a work in progress, but the work that has been accomplished so far has created some excitment for those who are interested in geneology work. You can search for people who may have been buried in the Cedar City Cemetery by first or last name. If they are buried in our cemetery in Plat B information about their date of birth, where they were born, date of death, and other valueable records may be obtained. Some of the occupants located in Plat B of the Cemetery also have a photograph of their headstone.
The interactive map of the Cedar City Cemetery may be found online at www.cedarcity.org --> Departments --> Parks and Outdoor Facilities --> Cemetery.
