Cedar City Lion's Club proudly presents the 2010 Great American Stampede. Events include:
Friday, September 10th:
All Day - Old Fort Cedar at Main Street Park. Horse-drawn wagon rides, blacksmithing demonstrations, western entertainment and music, goat roping, draft horse demonstrations, inflatable fun houses, and vendors offering western wear, crafts, and refreshments such as Navajo tacos, chuck wagon beans, roasted corn on the cob and flame-grilled burgers or hot dogs.
7:00 pm - National Collegiate Rodeo Association rodeo at Cross Hollows Arena.
9:30 pm to midnight - Western Dance at Main Street Park featuring live band "Muddy Boots". (Free to the public - all welcome).
Saturday, September 11th:
All Day until 7:00 pm - Old Fort Cedar at Main Street Park. Horse-drawn wagon rides, blacksmithing demonstrations, western entertainment and music , goat roping, draft horse demonstrations, inflatable fun houses, and vendors offering western wear, crafts, and refreshments such as Navajo tacos, chuck wagon beans, roasted corn on the cob and flame-grilled burgers or hot dogs.
11:00 am - Western Parade on Main Street. Typical entrants include: Native Americans dressed in buckskin riding bareback on colorful ponies; mountain men in authentic attire complete with pelt-laden pack horses; award-winning restorations and reproductions of stage coaches, freight wagons, beer wagons, covered wagons loaded with gear, elegant phaetons, and light carriages. Champion draft horses in past parades have included Clydesdales, Percherons, and Frisians. Miniature horses trot down Main Street to the particular delight of the children and the Queen, Princess, and other royalty from the Lions Club Great American Stampede Rodeo ride the horses they use in their rodeo exhibitions of fine horsemanship.
7:00 pm - National Collegiate Rodeo Association rodeo at Cross Hollows Arena.
