• 8:00 a.m. – Early Morning program at the Rock Church, featuring Wayne Hinton as guest speaker. Mr. Hinton taught history at Southern Utah University for 38 years.
• 9:30 a.m. – 6th Annual Main Street Mile: For all those who want to run or walk a mile with friends or family members down Cedar City's Main Street. Everyone is invited to participate, including children in strollers. Register at the Cedar City Community Center and receive a T-shirt. Registration is $8.00 for the first person and $5.00 for additional family members. Registration is also available starting at 8:30 a.m. at the event. T-shirts may have to be reordered if there are not enough at the event. Small children (in strollers) don't need to register to participate unless they want a t-shirt. Just show up at the corner of 200 South and 300 West. (Parking lot near SUU)
10:00 a.m. – Pioneer Day Parade, with Mona and Harold Hiskey as Grand Marshalls. Steve Corry will be recognized as the "Modern Day Pioneer." Anyone who wishes to participate my do so. Entries must comply with this year's theme, "Hope on, Journey on." The parade route will be different this year. We are encouraging people to sit and watch from Main Street Park, where the announcer will be. The parade will start at 200 South and Ending at 400 North.
11:00 to 2:00 – Celebration at Main Street Park. Food, relays for kids aged 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10; booths dunk tank, fishing pond, etc. Please come and enjoy
The Sons of the Utah Pioneers will be providing hamburgers and all the trimmings. Please encourage everyone to come hungry. This is a great way to support SUP. They raise money to provide scholarships for local students. come out and support a great cause!
