The project has been underway for 4 months and is now 58% complete.
Ongoing Restrictions:
Northbound and Southbound I-15
I-15 will have intermittent one lane closures as needed, Monday through Friday, throughout the summer.
Cross Hollow Road
Traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction as crews reconstruct the north side of the roadway. Consider using an alternate route when possible.
Pedestrians should use the designated route and should not enter Cross Hollow traffic lanes at any time.
Intersection of Cross Hollow Road/Highway 91 and Main Street
Drivers should pay close attention to new lane configurations, location of stop bars, pavement markings, signs and traffic signals. Use caution and be patient when navigating the intersection. This layout allows crews to keep the intersection open and functioning during construction.
A Few Fun Facts:
The South Cedar Interchange project has now been underway for 4 months.
Here are some statistics for the work to date:
43,000 Cubic yards of material have been excavated, which is enough material to fill 13 olympic size swimming pools.
2,500 Cubic yards of old asphalt have been removed. You could use that old asphalt to fill 15,000 standard bath tubs.
30,000 Tons of aggregates have been imported to build the roadway substructure. That's the equivalent of hauling in 4,000 adult male elephants.
8,000 Tons of new asphalt have been placed, which is roughly the same weight as 12 fully loaded 737 airplanes.
