CHANGES TO CEDAR CITY SERVICES (Grouped by Department)

With the new developments of recent cases of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in both Washington and Iron Counties, the City will be closing all of our offices to the public, except by appointment. We know that this creates a problem for some people, but we do have facilities set in place, which we hope will accommodate most of our residents.
We would like to remind our residents that most City business can be conducted over the phone, on the website or via email.
There is a new dropbox for utility payments in the lobby outside of the City offices for those of you who would like to pay your bills "in person". We strongly encourage residents to use online services or phone calls whenever possible for the safety of our staff and residents.

Cedar City Library will be closed as of Wednesday, March 18th, 2020. At this time, we are unable to waive fines. If you need to return books, please drop them off at our book drop on the Northside of the building. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes. You can also renew items by calling us at 435-586-6661 or emailing us at ereference@cedarcity.org. Exercising an abundance of caution and in conformity with the suggestions of government leaders and many in the medical community, the Cedar City Library will experience a temporary closure effective after the end of business sanitizing, painting, and general building maintenance. Certain enhancements to our catalog and the way material is located will be implemented. Capitalizing on a period of low attendance as well as a time that calls for cautious and prudent behavior ensures that this closure will impact the fewest number of patrons. Please take advantage of our eBook and eAudio resources, databases, and other online resources. We will make daily updates on social media. Thank you for your patronage. Heritage Center and Festival Hall will be closed to the public until further notice. Cleaning, building maintenance, and other necessary catch-up items will take place while the facility is closed, and staff will be available to answer questions and schedule future events. With the COVID-19 concerns, we will be suspending fingerprinting services until further notice, effective immediately. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The police department’s office is closed to the public. Please contact the non-emergency number, 586-2956 or dispatch at 586-2955 to make an appointment or to speak with an officer. Police officers will continue to normally respond to emergency calls for service. However, all non-emergency calls will be handled by telephone. Thank you!

We are continuing the closure of our Facility through next week (March 30th- April 4th.) We will continue to closely monitor the situation and make a decision on reopening on a week to week basis based on the mandates and safety of our patrons and staff. Please stay safe, continue to wash your hands, and practice social distancing! We will do our best to keep the community apprised of any and all changes. - PARK FACILITIES Park facilities are open for day-use and reservations are on hold.
- LAKE ON THE HILLS Open for fishing
- PARKS / TRAILS All public playgrounds are closed. The parks are open, but the playgrounds are closed. Signs will be posted in the near future.
- CROSS HOLLOW EVENTS CENTER Diamond Z Indoor Arena and Cross Hollow Outdoor Arena will be closed for large events as of Wednesday, March 18th, 2020. Open riding will still be available. For questions, staff can be reached at 435-867-6284.
- GOLF COURSE Open for daily play. tournaments and League play postponed.
- SPORTS AND RECREATION PROGRAMMING All recreational programming is closed for the spring. Registration for youth sports and adult softball still being accepted. We will keep you posted with any and all changes. Please contact Jennifer Weaver at email: jweaver@cedarcity.org with any questions.
