Dear Cedar City Residents,

As a City, our goal is the safety of our residents. We will continue monitoring the situation and recommendations coming from the State and health departments and make adjustments where/when necessary. This is an unprecedented situation, and we are prepared to modify plans as additional information becomes available at the State and Federal levels. This is not the time to panic or spread fear; instead, we encourage citizens to be cautious, stay safe, and consider what steps they can take to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19).

Thank you for your understanding

Dear Cedar City Residents,

Yesterday, I was part of a local intergovernmental task force related to coronavirus preparedness in our area and I wanted to provide you with an update.

Here in Cedar City, our primary role during the coronavirus outbreak is to support the local, county, state and federal agencies directly tasked with managing and communicating to the public regarding the Coronavirus outbreak.

As our City continues to work with various different agencies I want you to know we will provide you with updated, accurate information as it becomes available. This is not a time to panic and let fear take over but to continue using good hygienic practices of washing our hands, using hand sanitizer, not touching our faces, sneezing and coughing into tissues and staying home if we don’t feel good.

For the most update information from the Southwest Utah Public Health Department please visit coronavirus.utah.gov or swuhealth.org/covid.

Mayor Wilson-Edwards
